This project was the final for the class Introduction to Fashion, taken during the spring quarter of 2024 at the Savannah College of Art and Design. The concept is inspired by the Taylor Swift album “The Tortured Poets Department” which was released on April 19, 2024.

The gown is based on an 1830s wedding dress, yet it has been ruined and stained with ink. This is in reference to one of the album’s main themes, a tumorous relationship. It reflects the promise of marriage being dangled in front until broken and tarnished as the relationship slowly dies or ends with an explosive shot.
